About Tapestry Massage
Christine Farinick
My career in the healing art of massage therapy arrived by a circuitous route. I did not choose massage, but felt it had chosen me.
After moving to South Carolina, I began working in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. In my job as a Student Assistance Counselor, I traveled to and from five schools. I did this for two years and then decided it was time to be a stay-at-home mom for a while.
I found I still needed an outlet for my desire to help others. After much soul-searching and advice from friends, I enrolled at Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Massage. I received my degree in massage therapy in August 2008. My heart now soars with purpose and passion.
This profession is not a job to me but rather a gift that I am able to provide to others. This hands-on approach to health and well-being is but another way to practice the healing arts. It is rewarding not only to the client, but also to myself. I find myself thanking the client after each session for the honor and trust they have instilled upon me.
My undergraduate degree is in Psychology from Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island. Later I earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Rhode Island College. I worked in Rhode Island as a Student Assistance Counselor until moving to Fort Mill, South Carolina in 2000.
